Field Notes Expedition Notebooks
Visually, this Field Notes design really stands out: it features a striking "Antarctic Survey Orange" on the front cover and "Polar Night Black" on the back, accented by a subtle varnish effect depicting a topographical map of Antarctica. The interior pages feature a dot-grid pattern printed in a light gray.
The true innovation, however, lies in the paper—though "paper" is perhaps no longer the most accurate term. The entire notebook is crafted from Yupo Synthetic Paper, an impressively tear-resistant and waterproof material made from polypropylene pellets in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Note: Because synthetic paper is non-porous, it does not absorb ink in the same way as conventional paper. It is best used with ballpoint pens, pencils, or fine-tip Sharpies.
